We love this place for shredded chicken breast tacos - of course not traditional taco truck tacos with diced meat, but sooo good:) - the chicken quesadillas are yummy too.
Seriously growing up a San Diego I'm picky about my Mexican food this is first legit the closestese to what I love and is authentic enough I got a huge order of Carne Asada fries and when they brought these drink cups I thought they got my order wrong and gave me two drinks didn't Ralle is that for $2.95 it was a great amount for rice and beans I seriously wasn't expecting them to be that size I was expecting to be the little standard cup size
Cute little dive . You order at the counter and they bring you chips & salsa and your food. We just ordered the 2 sopes plate & 3 hard shell taco combo . The carnitas was really good , cooked to perfection and well seasoned. Rice & Beans were just ok. The hardshell tacos were decent. If you factor in the prices this is a gem mint find !
I have been coming to this Mexican spot for years and I'm nearly 30. It's located off Manhattan Beach Blvd so beware as parking is very limite and does get busy during lunch and dinner times. My absolute favorite is the wet burrito with the red sauce the red sauce has flavor, the melted cheese just hits the palate differently. I also got the quesatacos the size were decent size although the consume is not proportionate to the tacos- personally they skimp out on the consome which is the whole point of birria tacos. I've tried better elsewhere so I would skip this as this is a new addition to their menu. Lastly I got 6 tacos 4 de asada and 2 de lengua, they are bursting with authentic flavors. They provide complimentary chips and salsa which is a nice touch. I took this to go and still complimentary chips and salsa which is amazing. Service could be improved for a smoother dining experience. The indoor seating is very small but they have decent outdoor dining tables. A hidden gem of Lawndale, definitely worth a try!
Good food good service I've had the super burrito and green enchilada platea both good and prices reasonable Clean not greasy spoon hole in the wall. Very LTD parking. Would recommend and will definately gp back
Big flavor, hole in the wall Mexican joint in the best way. The Super Burrito with birria was just as on point as it could be - rich, spicy, delicious. Thirteen bucks for plenty of food, this is what Chipotle would be if it was good, no make that amazing. I look forward to sampling their menu in the future.
El Amigo is probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in the South Bay. They do it right, traditional Mexican flavors in some great dishes. Their Chile Verde is insane, their tortas are the perfect lunch, and their Burritos Mojados will have you STUFFED! So many great items all for good prices. Service is always quick, staff is friendly, great for a quick bite, or if you want to eat there, they have enough seating for small groups.
